New VU City Campus

The VU City Campus embodies the university campus of the future. Opened in 2022, the campus houses the state-of-the-art, 32-level VU City Tower in the heart of Melbourne's central business district (CBD).

The new campus demonstrates VU's commitment to sustainability through the City Tower's five-star green rating, as well as the university's vision to integrate industry partnerships across its campuses, offering real-world networking and placement opportunities.

The City Tower is home to select university and TAFE courses in business, health, beauty, education and English language. Sport Science goes from strength to strength

Victoria University has climbed to 7th in the world in the 2022 Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of sport science schools and departments. The university's continued rise is the result of world-leading courses in sport and exercise science, exercise rehabilitation, physical education, sport management and outdoor recreation and fitness, as well as an outstanding research program.

VU is now the first university in the world to become an official FIFA Research Institute for Football Technology, developing cutting-edge innovation and technology in partnership with football's global governing body. VU sport science academics have developed offside technology used at the 2022 World Cup and new data insights for Australian Open tennis players, while other recent sports-related research ranges from the influence of AI in sport to the secret to healthy ageing.

Block Model

Students at Victoria University benefit from the award-winning VU Block Model, a smarter style of higher education involving smaller, more interactive classes. The VU Block Model is an Australian first, offering enhanced focus and flexible timetables to enable students to balance study with other commitments. An innovative and internationally recognised teaching and learning model, the Block Model is a proven success with students, educators and employers.

The VU Block Model is different to other learning methods as it allows students to focus on one or two subjects at a time, rather than studying multiple subjects at once. Learning in interactive, workshop-style classes, students get to know their classmates and teachers, apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios and receive timely feedback.

Students generally learn in three-hour classes, three days a week, with flexible timetable options, enabling focused learning and the flexibility to balance study with other commitments. It's a more connected and engaging way of learning that encourages students to build personal and professional networks and develop the skills and knowledge to succeed in their future careers.
