What's new

The University of Windsor has launched new virtual tours that allow prospective students to tour the campus and facilities from the comfort of their own home, which is perfect for international students to get accustomed to the university without needing to travel. The tours offer detailed views of the main campus and highlights, with videos that detail where classes and labs are held. For the international students who are unable to travel in advance of their enrolment , these new virtual tours ensure students can get to know the university before they arrive.

　　The University of Windsor is proud to unveil the Toldo Lancer Centre in this summer 2022. The $73 million Toldo Lancer Centre is not only the new home to the UWindsor's recreational services and intercollegiate sports and varsity teams, but also a new, modern space to connect, gather and host various social activities, community, special events and receptions. The centre will provide research opportunities, employment for students, expand community partnerships, support neighbourhood organizations, the Lancer summer camp programs, and sport tourism activities - a place for all.

　　

Teaching quality

The University of Windsor's faculty are world-renowned researchers and yet know their students by name. The low student-to-faculty ratio means more mentoring and research opportunities that allow the university to offer students a personalized education. Department structure

There are eight main faculties that make up the University of Windsor. These are:

　　Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences – largest faculty on campus with approximately 5,000 full and part-time students. FAHSS offers over fifty degree programs and a wide range of unique undergraduate certificates and minors in the fine and performing arts, the humanities and culture, as well as in the social sciences. Law – Windsor Law has earned distinction among law schools for its emphases on access to justice, community service, clinical and experiential learning, and taking advantage of Canada's border location transnational law Education – promotes the professional and scholarly growth of teachers at all levels as reflective, caring, competent and innovative educators. Nursing – a premier centre for nursing education, recognized for advancing the discipline through its thriving research and scholarship activities Engineering – home to some of the most innovative engineering research happening in Canada. Odette School of Business – the Odette School of Business (OSB) has earned accreditation by AACSB International, CPA Ontario and Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO). OSB is one of only eight Canadian business schools having ever been invited to full voting membership in the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). Human Kinetics – Students in HK have unlimited pathways for success. Many of the university's undergraduate and graduate students compliment their education with internships, co-operative education, and work-integrated-learning opportunities. Science – The University of Windsor's Science is a research powerhouse. Entry requirements

Entry requirements for study on an undergraduate program at the University of Windsor can vary depending on the chosen field and subject, and on the country of origin for the student.

　　International students are very much welcomed at the university, although as all courses are taught and examined in English, students will need to be able to demonstrate language proficiency. Although various tests are accepted, UWindsor's English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) also provides students who meet the academic requirements a pathway to meet the English proficiency requirements for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Facilities

To offer students the best chance of success, the University of Windsor invests heavily in its facilities. Students can be assured that if they choose to enroll at the University of Windsor, they will have access to some premier facilities both for their academic learning but also for general student living and recreation.

　　The university offers international students an affordable lifestyle, with reasonable price accommodations. International students will be fully supported in finding appropriate accommodation when they apply, so they can arrive ready to learn.

　　With four major facilities including the main Leddy Library, students have access to a huge wealth of books, e-resources and more, along with study spaces and computing facilities where they can complete solo and project work. The Leddy Library is open from early until midnight on most days and opens 24 hours a day during examination time too.

　　The university also has outstanding sports facilities. The primary building will be the New Toldo Lancer Centre, which offers extensive sporting facilities open to all students, including a triple gymnasium with basketball courts, an impressive fitness centre, an eight-lane swimming pool and natural grass fields for a variety of sports.

　　

Scholarships & funding

The University of Windsor has an extensive scholarship and bursary program which sees over 14 million CAD awarded to students every year. While some are funded directly by the university, many are instead backed by donors including alumni, faculty, local organizations and the wider community.

　　There are various dedicated scholarships and bursaries for international students, including some that are automatic depending on students' status and some that require an application. 　　Scholarships and bursaries are awarded for a wide variety of criteria, and students are encouraged to look at the various options available as there may be a financial award they are eligible for that they weren't aware of. 　　The university also offers a tuition guarantee. The purpose of the UWindsor Tuition Guarantee is to provide financial predictability for international students and their families. Students are placed in a cohort year based on the first term of entry at the University of Windsor. Each cohort is guaranteed an unchanged tuition rate for the typical length of time required for the degree.
