University of Connecticut
The University of Connecticut is a national leader among public research universities. A culture of innovation drives this pursuit of knowledge throughout the University’s network of campuses. Connecticut’s commitment to higher education helps UConn attract students who thrive in the most competitive environments, as well as globally renowned faculty members.
Learning and academics are about exploring the things that interest you, growing with that knowledge, and finding the path on which you’ll be most successful. With 14 schools and colleges and more than 100 undergraduate majors, students will find what they are looking for at UConn. And what if they come up with something unique to study. They can create their own major.
Storrs is a town-within-a-town, and there’s plenty here to make you feel at home. A diverse community, countless activities and forms of entertainment, and UConn Husky sporting events are just the tip of the iceberg. Students can make this large community smaller by getting involved in a club or organization, or by living among their peers with common interests in one of their Learning Communities. At UConn, there are plenty of popular, safe, and free activities right here on campus. With a movie theater, game room, TV lounges, and a food court, the Student Union has it all. Beside this, dozens of open mics, plays, and concerts provide a much-deserved break.
UConn expands beyond just the Storrs campus. With four regional campuses around the state, access to UConn is readily available throughout Connecticut. Small classes, access to talented faculty, and exclusive internships and majors allows student unique opportunities while still providing the benefit of a UConn education. A short drive away, UConn’s Depot campus houses the Center for Clean Energy Engineering, Human Resources, the Community School of the Arts, and Chaplin Cottage.
