A five-campus institution, Oklahoma State University (OSU) is a top public university which offers over 300 programs both on-campus and online.

  Over 35,000 students from more than 100 countries are enrolled at OSU, creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

  The institution is renowned for its teaching, research, and sustainability work. It was recently ranked 8th in the U.S by the Times Higher Education's 2021 impact rankings, which assesses progress made towards the United Nation's sustainable development goals.

  Founded in 1890, the university is an established and top-tier land-grant institution. Accessibility to education is a primary focus for OSU, so the student-teacher ratio is 20:1, so academic support is easily available and personable.

  Rated amongst the top five best online learning schools in the U.S, (Newsweek 2022), it provides comprehensive and modern facilities across its multiple campuses. This includes its Edmon Low library, which is one of the top 100 academic research libraries in the U.S.

  The university boasts a large alumni network with over 264,000 members. Successful OSU alumni includes country singer Garth Brooks, renowned attorney Anita Hill, and NFL player Barry Sanders.

  Outside of academic learning, the university has the most comprehensive student union in the country, which includes a hotel, parking garage, shopping, dining, student services and more. c.   The main campus is in Stillwater, which is in north-central Oklahoma. A well-loved location, Stillwater was ranked one of the 50 best college towns in America (MSN 2021).

  Ranked one of the best college towns to start a career, the campus is just 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Travel between the city and campuses using community buses and transit are free for OSU students and staff. Stillwater Regional Airport is only six minutes away from campus and offers daily round trip flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport.

Rankings

Oklahoma State University has recently been ranked 8th in the U.S by the Times Higher Education's 2021 impact rankings. Also ranked 85th out of 1,115 institutions worldwide, this is global recognition that the university is successfully working on sustainable development goals set out by the United Nations.

  Its Center for Health Sciences has been recognized as one of the best medical schools in the U.S (U.S. News and World Report 2021). Placing in the top 10 schools for serving medically needy and rural areas, its rankings include:

  7th for health professional shortage areas 10th for rural care 13th in diversitySeveral of its online programs have also been recognized amongst the nation's best by U.S. News and World Report's 2021 Best Online Programs ranking. This includes the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and the College of Education and Human Sciences.

  

Library expansion

The university's partnership with a private university has created a new interlibrary loan service.

  Oklahoma State and Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla, a private institution in Mexico, have been sharing student exchanges, dual degree programs and faculty collaborations for several years.

  The new loan service means staff and students from both universities can borrow digital resources from each other.

  

Mental health

To improve mental health resources on campus, the university has joined up with the JED Foundation. A four-year partnership, it will help OSU develop its mental health programs, policies and services.

  The OSU Center for Health Sciences Department of Wellness has also launched a new mental health initiative. The online platform shares resources, self-help modules and has expanded mental health services for students both on and off-campus.

  The university's diverse teaching team is made up of 70 student, faculty and staff organizations. The institution's student to faculty ratio is 20:1, so learning and support is personal, practical, and relevant to student's career goals, preparing them for success.

  Taught by passionate industry leaders, courses are designed to teach and develop a range of skills, including analysis, communication, critical thinking and leadership. Department structure

A top tier institution, OSU has five academic colleges, a veterinary school and an osteopathic medical school. It offers over 200 undergraduate programs as well as over 200 master's, doctoral and graduate certificate programs both on campus and online.

  

Ferguson College of Agriculture

This college provides hands-on learning and research opportunities across a variety of agricultural areas.

  Several of its programs are professionally accredited including agricultural education, forestry, landscape architecture and landscape management.

  

College of Arts and Sciences

The largest and most diverse college, it has 24 academic departments and over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. It focuses on the areas of arts, humanities, social sciences, maths and natural sciences. Preparing students for the workplace, the college also offers study abroad and internship opportunities.

  

College of Education and Human Sciences

This new college combines programs of education, health, aviation and human sciences. It offers over 100 programs and houses 22 centers, clinics and labs for practical learning.

  

College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology

The biggest college of its kind in the state, it teaches nationally recognized programs. Modern facilities in this college includes the Endeavor Lab where students can practice and apply classroom theory.

  

Spears School of Business

Boasting a range of centers and institutes, Spears provides unique opportunities to work alongside faculty in a practical environment.

  Its programs are accredited by the AACSB International, the highest standard for quality in business education. The school is also ranked in the top five percent of global institutions offering business degrees. Additionally, 94 percent of students are employed or in further study within three months of graduation.

  

School of Global Studies and Partnerships

A strategic and administrative hub for the university's global engagement, the school provides information, support, and development for international projects for OSU staff and students.

  

Entry requirements

Each program at Oklahoma State has unique entry requirements.

  Because its courses are taught in English, international applicants need to meet specific English language proficiency requirements. The university accepts iBT TOEFL and IELTS tests, with the following minimum scores:

  There are 30 dining options on campus, with a range of cuisines available on a flexible meal plan. Eateries include cafeterias, convenience stores, franchises, and restaurants which cater for a variety of dietary requirements.

  The university has been listed amongst 26 national universities for its high-quality fitness facilities, as well as medical and mental health services (Greatist.com). Its Colvin Recreation Center has recently undergone a USD 20 million investment and boasts 240,000 sq. feet of recreational facilities. This includes:

Scholarships & funding

Tuition costs and general fees at Oklahoma State are 69 percent of the national average for land-grant institutions, and cost of attendance is 78 percent of the national average. Since 2000, the university has been consistently named in Kiplinger's personal finance list for best college value.

  The range of scholarships and funding provided by the university further help to make it an affordable institution for students to attend. Almost 50 percent of students graduate with no debt, with the average debt being USD 22,591, which is below the national average.

  International students are eligible for a range of scholarships, varying between USD 4,000 – 10,000 per academic year. No additional application for scholarships is required, as international students are automatically considered when they apply for admission to OSU.

  Scholarships provided by the university include the International Achievement Freshman Scholarship and International Transfer Achievement Scholarship. Both are based on English language test scores, SAT scores and GPA scores, and award recipients with a partial tuition fee waiver.

  The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is based on whether a parent or grandparent graduated from OSU and awards a partial tuition waiver. Students are required to submit a form to be eligible for this scholarship.

  Students are also considered for several competitive academic scholarships. Awards and requirements are unique to each academic college, and are usually assessed on academic test results, community engagement, essay responses, interviews, and auditions.
