About the course

The Pre-sessional English programme is for international students who are intending to study at Lancaster University, and are required or wish to improve their English language and study skills before starting their degree studies. All our pre-sessional courses will help you develop skills and strategies to:

　　meet the English language expectations of your chosen academic programme

　　communicate in a range of academic contexts

　　succeed in a UK higher education context

　　help you to create a network of friends and establish you as a valued member of our student community

　　The programmes vary in length, depending on the standard of your English when you apply.

　　To be eligible, you must have:

　　An active offer for an academic course at Lancaster University

　　An English language test score that meets the requirements for entry to one of our pre-sessional programmes

　　If you are still waiting for your academic results, you need to be confident that you are on track to meet the academic requirements before you start a pre-sessional programme. If you fail to meet the academic requirements after starting a pre-sessional programme you will not be able to progress to your academic course.

　　The pre-sessional programmes will be delivered both in person on campus or online. The 5-week programme will be delivered online and incorporates a one-week compulsory induction at the end of August. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
