About the course
Get your building career off to a great start with a qualification that prepares you for the workforce. The popularity of this programme reflects the excellent employment opportunities for graduates. If you are looking for a career in either the residential or commercial construction field, and enjoy working outdoors and pulling together big elements to build a structure, then the Carpentry strand is for you. The programme is supported by the Industry Training Association Building (ITaB) scheme and the BCITO. As a graduate, you will be qualified to work as entry-level construction site workers, pre-cut factory workers, and in the retail sector of the building and construction industry. Your tutors are licenced building practitioners and NMIT is also involved with New Zealand Certified Builders, Master Builders and Master Joiners. Once you graduate, you can follow safe working practices in a carpentry workshop and perform basic operations with hand, power and machine tools. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
