MSc Education for Sustainable Futures in Adult, Community and Youth Contexts

About the course

The Masters in Education for Sustainable Futures is an interdisciplinary, community-oriented, and impact-driven programme. It is designed to support you in developing practical and imaginative skills to create and foster sustainable futures through education. Focusing on education within adult, community, and youth settings, it takes a culturally responsive, and ecologically mindful approach to understanding and reimagining educational practices as they relate to the sustainability challenges and opportunities of our times, both locally and globally.

Our student-centred, relational, and multi-modal teaching approaches will foster your awareness of your own identities as learners and educators, as they relate to wider historical, political, cultural, and social factors. The programme serves to deepen your understanding of contemporary sustainability and educational debates, including the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. You will be encouraged to use your analytical abilities to reveal and challenge underlying assumptions and foreground considerations of local and community-based understandings and responses. You will have the opportunity to link up with a range of community-based organisations in Central Scotland for your dissertation work. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
