Enhance your understanding of computers with a master's in computer science at the University of Southampton. This flexible programme allows you to choose modules from our master’s degrees in- Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering, Web Science and Technology. By the end of your studies, you will have developed a set of specialised skills in several computer science disciplines. Many of our graduates become software developers, but you could also apply your talents as a consultant, project manager or technical specialist. Computer science involves the study of computers and the design of software systems. It also informs the fundamental technologies and computing equipment of today’s connected world. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Southampton
Honours Degree:
Our normal entry requirement is an upper second-class honours degree or higher (or equivalent) in computer science, software engineering or a ly related subject.
We require a minimum 2:1 degree overall (or equivalent) in a related discipline and 2:1 in the required modules. You should have a good understanding of at least one object-oriented modern programming language (Java, C++, C#, etc). Overall good base of computing modules, ideal are Software architecture or design, and a spread of computer science modules such as networks and database, AI or web modules and maths. We do take into account work experience, in place of taught programming.
We normally ask for IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each competency.
