About the course
The graduate programs in marine biology and biology are designed (1) to prepare students for further graduate work leading to a Ph.D., (2) to provide professional biologists with advanced research and educational opportunities, (3) to prepare students as managers of coastal and marine resources, trained to deal with contemporary problems in the environment, and (4) to provide students with a broad-based graduate program allowing for specialization in the diverse fields of inquiry represented by the faculty of the department. Entry requirements for University of North Carolina - Wilmington
Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in this country or its equivalent in a foreign institution, by the first official day of classes for the semester of application. A minimum score of 550 (paper test), or a minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) is required for admission to all programs, or IELTS minimum score of 6.5. One official transcript is required from each U.S. post-secondary institution attended.
