About the course

Electrical and computer engineers are responsible for making day-to-day life easier while protecting the nation?s infrastructure against cyber and physical attacks. These engineers improve quality of life by creating innovative systems such as smart houses, self-driving cars and medical instruments.

  The Tandy School of Computer Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Tulsa jointly offer programs leading to the Master of Science degree in Engineering, Master of Engineering, and Ph.D. degree in computer engineering.

  After completion of core doctoral credits, students are allowed to pursue research and course work that emphasizes either the computer science or electrical engineering aspect of this joint degree. Alumni serve as faculty in academia and also enjoy successful careers in industry and government.

  the M.S.E. program in computer engineering will be able to:

  Demonstrate knowledge required to mathematically analyze and evaluate complex interactions between variables, computing hardware, timing of data transfers, and networking in the field of computer engineering.

  Demonstrate skills needed for studying an open ended problem and be able to manage projects in the field of computer engineering.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tulsa

Applicants for the Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.) program in computer engineering must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in the United States or a recognized institution in another country, with a G.P.A. no lower than 3.0/4.0. Moreover, they must have expertise in the foundational areas of computer science and electrical engineering

  In order to be accepted to the M.S. E. program in computer engineering, applicants must receive satisfactory GRE scores of quantitative plus verbal scores greater than 300, with quantitative scores greater than 151. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must, in addition, receive TOEFL scores of at least 80 on the Internet-based exam or 550 on the paper exam. A score of 6.0 or higher on the IELTS examination may be substituted for the TOEFL.
