As one of the top research-intensive computing science departments in Canada, it is an excellent place to pursue graduate-level studies.Research in Advanced Man-Machine Interfaces (AMMI) is focused on investigating scientific and medical visualization (e.g. visualization and simulation of simple organisms, space weather prediction, CT and MRI visualization fro neurosurgical planning), computational steering, computer-assisted surgical training (e.g. motion tracking, haptic guidance), computer-assisted occupational therapy, telepresence (e.g. realtime view morphing and foreground-background segmentation), interpretation of remote-sensed images, spatial navigation, and related areas. Entry requirements for University of Alberta
Admission to the M.Sc. program is highly competitive. To apply to the Masters Program (M.Sc.) a four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent, is required.TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Minimum score = 600 paper, 250 computer based, 100 internet with a minimum score of 20 per section. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall band score of 7.0, with a score of at least 6.0 on each test band. You must have an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale, over the last 20 half courses to apply.
