About the course

　　The MSc by thesis will take you between 12 and 15 months to complete. You'll carry out in-depth supervised research and write a thesis. During your studies you might also author publications for peer-reviewed journals.

　　To do an MSc by thesis you'll need an Honours degree or postgraduate diploma in an appropriate field, with an average grade of B or higher in your subject area.

　　Take your knowledge further with advanced study of the sea. Gain an in-depth understanding of the complex world of Marine Biology—from windswept coasts and sandy beaches to coral reefs and the depths of the ocean. Tailor your studies towards your career goals—select from a range of courses offered by the School of Biological Sciences. You can choose to learn about the connections between ecosystems, the physiology of marine organisms or coping with global change. Develop practical skills in research design, implementation and analysis and engage in discussion and critical evaluation of current issues in marine biology. How to apply

Entry requirements for Victoria University of Wellington

Bachelor’s degree with Honours or equivalent in the same subject area. A research proposal is required.
