This course is designed for aspiring pharmacists who would like to be an integral part of the healthcare system and want to directly affect the lives and lifestyles of the people with whom they interact.
The Master of Pharmacy is a postgraduate coursework degree that will prepare you for all aspects of the pharmacy profession, including leadership in innovative and evidence-based practice. Graduates from this course will be eligible to register with the Pharmacy Board of Australia after completing 1824 hours (one year) of supervised practical training and an Intern Training Program. You will complete core units in pharmacy, including professional practice and experiential placement, and a capstone unit in your final semester.
The mandatory Work Integrated Learning program includes clinical placements which provide real-life opportunities for students to experience the roles that pharmacists play in contemporary healthcare environments. Clinical placements occur in both years of the Master of Pharmacy degree. By the completion of the Master of Pharmacy course, students will have been exposed to a wide variety of practice settings, including community pharmacy and hospital settings, in a range of different geographical locations where demographically diverse patients access healthcare .
