About the course

This course provides its graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to explain and apply appropriate information technology (IT) methodologies to help an individual or organisation achieve its goals and objectives. You'll also learn to appreciate the scientific foundations on which IT is built, and to anticipate the changing direction of IT and evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of new technologies.

　　This course has a strong emphasis on the application of contemporary and emerging technologies, including cloud and high-performance computing, agile web development and software project design and management.

　　You'll develop computer programs in a number of contemporary scripting and programming languages and apply logical and critical thinking skills to harness existing technologies to manage and analyse large data sets.

How to apply

Entry requirements for The University of Western Australia

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have

　　a a bachelors degree or an equivalent qualification as recognised by UWA

　　and

　　b the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent

　　and

　　c completed Mathematics Applications ATAR or equivalent as recognised by UWA

　　Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 must include Academic Reading and Writing modules

　　TOEFL - Internet-based Test iBT An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section 18 in the Reading section 20 in the Speaking section and 20 in the Listening section for all courses.

　　TOEFL - Essay Rating Test of Written English TWE of 45 and either 230 Computer-based or 570 Paper-based score.
