LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting is one of the nation's most selective graduate programs.

　　The LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting is one of the only graduate programs in the country to focus solely on painting, giving a select group of highly motivated painters the opportunity to find their individual voices within a supportive community. Through frequent critiques and seminars in dialogue with the director, critic-in-residence, visiting artists and peers, students develop the ability to think critically and sustain a rigorous practice. Trips to major art centers are integral to the discourse as students position their painting in the contemporary art world. Entry requirements for Maryland Institute College of Art

CURRICULUM VITAE/RESUME - Applicants should include both academic and professional / work-related experience. Statement of Purpose/Artist Statement. Three (3) Letters of Reference. Digital transcripts from the last degree-granting institution can be uploaded to SlideRoom. Official transcripts are not required for the initial review process, however the Graduate Review Committee may request additional or official documentation before decision notification. TOEFL: A minimum overall band score of 75 on the IBT Test of English Language as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for full admission. IELTS: A minimum score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required.
