About the course

Our curriculum for the degree in actuarial mathematics includes specialized math courses and introductory study in business, economics, data science, and computer science. You will gain a firm grounding in fundamental mathematics before delving into advanced topics like interest theory, risk theory, loss models, and survival functions. You?ll also hone your computer programming skills and explore subjects like corporate finance and project management.

  Your rigorous coursework and hands-on practice will put you on track to prepare for the examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). In addition, WPI offers coursework that satisfies other SOA/CAS requirements, known as Validation by Educational Experience (VEE).

  BS/MS Option
