About the course

The Actuarial Science concentration trains students how to use mathematics, statistics, business, and economics to analyze and plan for future situations involving financial uncertainties and risks. This concentration is designed to qualify students to take the first two examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries and provides the foundation for the remaining examinations.

　　Learning Outcomes

　　Graduates will:

　　Obtain a solid background in theoretical mathematics and will be able to participate in mathematical work in a variety of fields or continue on to graduate school.

　　Be able to apply a range of mathematical and statistical tools to a diverse set of problems as presented to them in either employment or the pursuit of further education.

Entry requirements for Colorado State University - INTO USA

High school diploma, minimum GPA 3.0

　　Submit only your most recent high school transcript. We’ll ask for additional transcripts if necessary.

　　An official college transcript reflecting courses completed during high school is not required for the admission decision unless you’ve used full-time college enrollment as your high school curriculum (such as early college enrollment or a community college for homeschooling).

　　All decisions are provisional until a final, official transcript verifying graduation is received.

　　A personal statement is required from all freshman applicants.
