About the course
The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNCW offers two undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science BS) in Chemistry. The BS degree is accredited by the American Chemical Society through their Committee on Professional Training (CPT). This degree is appropriate for students planning a career in chemistry, including those contemplating graduate school. It requires 400 hours of laboratory training above the 100 level, and courses taught by faculty who specialize in each of the five core disciplines: organic, inorganic, physical, analytical and biochemistry. The BA degree is designed for students who want a strong background in chemisry but plan to pursue careers in other areas such as medicine, environmental science, biology, etc. See the menu to the left to find out more information about individual programs. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of North Carolina - Wilmington
An official transcript, translated into English (translation must be certified), of grades from secondary school. Transcripts from schools outside the U.S. must be original or certified true copies, with original signatures on all transcripts and English translations. A minimum 2.5 GPA on a U.S. scale of 4.0 is required, An SAT Reasoning Test critical reading score of 490 or higher, or an ACT minimum score of 20 on the Reading subsection may be submitted. TOEFL - minimum score of 71 on the Internet-based exam. IELTS - minimum score of 6.0 on the academic module.
