With a deeper understanding of the scientific fundamentals that underpin dentistry, you will graduate prepared for a rewarding career. The Doctor of Dental Medicine offers you the opportunity to develop skills through practice-based learning and will expose you to new dental technologies and research. Mitigating and managing the marine environment to withstand constant and highly variable climate change is a strategic science and research priority of the Australian government. The Marine Science major draws together relevant material to create a multi disciplinary curriculum that provides you with in-depth knowledge in a range of marine science. The major is explicitly science-based but seeks to provide you with with a broader range of capabilities and an interdisciplinary mind-set to service the large and growing demand for coastal and marine experts in a range of fields.

As a marine scientist, you can observe, measure and experiment in marine environments and habitats. You might find work constructing theories to explain what you see and measure in marine environments. You may work in laboratories, or in the field - gathering and interpreting data and material which may be collected in a variety of ways, from the physical collection of data and specimens to the utilisation of satellite data-gathering technology.
