For school leavers who want to become a pharmacist and learn how drugs are developed and medications affect the human body. The course combines hands-on learning with clinical experience, it is the first step to becoming a registered pharmacist.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy Practice is a vertically integrated coursework degree which will prepare you for professional practice as a pharmacist. The course includes the Pharmacy Board of Australia's intern training program and supervised practice requirements. Over the five years you will develop a comprehensive understanding of how medicines are developed and how medications affect the human body. Graduates will be eligible to apply for general registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (after successfully completing the examination and other requirements).
You will complete a sequence of core units that meet the accreditation requirements for your profession, with a focus on the pharmaceutical and pharmacological properties of medicines, problem solving, clinical decision making, communication, building an evidence base, and delivering person-centred healthcare to a diverse population with a range of medical conditions. In addition to on-campus learning, you will also have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in different practice settings through Work Integrated Learning placements.
