If you are interested in IT but prefer working with people and establishing client requirements, rather than immersing yourself in the technical details of software development, then the information systems major could be the right choice for you. Information systems underpin all aspects of our lives, whether we are working, studying or at leisure. We spend more and more of our time online using the Web, mobile apps and all manner of internet-connected devices. All around us systems like transport,manufacturing, banking and agriculture are increasingly connected and automated. More and more data is being created daily (‘Big Data’). This changes the way that government agencies and businesses process and apply information about their products, services, customers and citizens. Such systems are not only about technology.
