Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts - Photography

About the course

The primary emphasis in the photography area is on the development of personal vision and ideas. The program embraces a broad definition of photography within the wider context of contemporary practices in the field. Adventurous exploration, experimentation, and personal expression are encouraged. Instruction is individualized and tailored to each student?s interest and needs.

Our facilities are comprehensive and include the latest in digital processing and wide-format printing, traditional darkroom, non-silver and alternative process, lighting studio and graduate studio space.

Graduate students are encouraged to actively participate in teaching activities on the undergraduate level and to increase their knowledge of the history of photography and the contemporary art world. Striking a balance between practice, criticism and teaching, the goal is to develop well-rounded graduate students who are prepared for a variety of directions, not limited to professional art practice and higher education.
