About the course

Our BFA and MFA programs in painting join the other 2D specialties, drawing and printmaking. The curriculum establishes the relationship between painting’s rich and varied history, current dialogues in the field and the student’s personal thought and artistry. The combination of studio practice with creative ideas allows you to build a program that is perfect for your individual needs. You'll construct your own body of work, and leave with the connections and skills to succeed in your career goals.

　　The program emphasizes experimentation with a variety of media and aesthetic directions, focusing on a broader, problem-solving approach to painting, drawing, printmaking, digital media, installation art and beyond. How to apply

Entry requirements for Southern Illinois University - Carbondale

A completed application for admission.

　　A $40 non-refundable application fee. Fees may be waived for students who meet certain income levels. See your high school guidance counselor for details.

　　Current, official transcripts from each high school and college you’ve attended. All transcripts must be issued within the last 30 days and be contained in official sealed envelopes or sent through an electronic transcript system. A final high school transcript will be required upon graduation and completion of all high school course work.

　　An official copy of ACT or SAT scores. These must be sent directly from the testing organization or listed on your official high school transcript. Our school codes are 1144 for ACT and 1726 for SAT.

　　TOEFL - 68 on the internet based test
