About the course

The BFA Acting degree is a rigorous, intensive conservatory training program that provides in-depth study of acting, movement, dance, singing, voice, and stage combat. Graduates are prepared for immediate entry into the professional workforce. Our BFA Acting program is nationally recognized as one of the leading university acting degree programs in Canada. We attract the best students from across the country and around the world. Entrance to the BFA Acting program is competitive, with 12 spots (6 male and 6 female) in each incoming class. Auditions are held annually in February to start the program in September. You must have a successful audition and meet the academic requirements to be offered a spot in the program. Entry requirements for University of Alberta

Admission is based on your complete academic history and achievement in three main areas: your grades, your English proficiency, and completion of required subjects. English Language Proficiency requirements - TOEFL iBT: At least 90 with a minimum score of 21 points in each section. PBT is no longer accepted. IELTS - At least 6.5 with no band less than 5.5. SAT: minimum combined score of 1800 with a minimum of 600 on each section . Redesigned SAT: minimum combined score of 1200 with a minimum of 600 on each section .
