Bachelor of Arts in Statistics - Actuarial Science

About the course

Statistics is the science of characterizing uncertainty and extracting information from numerical data. Statistics majors at USU receive a solid education in areas like probability, linear regression/ time series, experiment design, quality control, and various areas in statistical analysis. Essentially, statisticians can work in any career or for any company where data is collected or analyzed. Because of this, and the fact that not enough people graduate in statistics to meet the current career demand, USU statistics majors have an extremely high job placement after graduation. The Mathematics and Statistics Department is a -knit unit where students receive individual attention from faculty mentors and the opportunity to pursue undergraduate research. Students receive a by completing all required courses in the major. To receive a BA, students must also gain proficiency in one or more foreign languages.
