About the course

Drama portrays life. Through stories of emotion, conflict, fact, or fiction, drama can transport both the actor and audience anywhere imaginable. Performance is the art of expression and is useful in communicating meaningful messages on any stage, and in any meeting, classroom, or conversation.

　　Drama program allows you to gain experience in various aspects of theatre, from acting to stage management to set design and production. Our small, intimate classes provide a highly supportive and respectful environment for students and instructors to get to know each other, push each other, develop, and grow. Each year, the department puts on theatre productions, with auditions open to all Augustana students. Fine arts scholarships are available for students involved in the plays.This major is taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree.Augustana Campus, located in Camrose, Alberta, one hour southeast of Edmonton, is home to just over 1,000 students from across Canada and around the world. Augustana offers liberal arts and science degree programs in an intimate and personalized setting, with smaller class sizes and a more flexible academic schedule.Augustana also offers a modified semester system called The Augustana Calendar. Each semester is comprised of a three-week session studying a single course, followed by a more traditional 11-week session studying up to four courses. This gives you the opportunity to dive deeper into research, travel, and other experiential learning endeavors, while at the same time reducing stress and workload. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Alberta

You must present 5 subjects from your final year of high school, one of which must be English. The next 3 subjects must be from Group A (Humanities) or Group C (Sciences) and will vary depending on your program and major. The 5th subject can be from Group A, B, or C – or it can be another subject (with approval from the Augustana Prospective Student Office).A minimum 70% combined average is required for admission. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - iBT: At least 86 with a minimum score of 21 points in each section, or paper based: 580, IELTS (Academic) (International English Language Testing System) - At least 6.5 with no band less than 5.0
