About the course

This one year add-on (level 8) is designed for graduates with a level 7 award who wish to further their Applied Social Studies education. It is a necessary qualification for those wishing to pursue postgraduate studies. The overall aim is to develop reflective and ethically-aware practitioners with the capacity to build professional relationships, in partnership with vulnerable individuals and groups who experience marginalisation, disadvantage or special needs. The course involves the study of related disciplines of Sociology, Social Policy, Psychology, Law, Applied Social Care, Personal and Professional Development and Supervised Professional Practice. Entry requirements for South East Technological University (SETU)

Applications are accepted from graduates who have successfully completed the BA in Applied Social Studies in Social Care (level 7) (WD018) or equivalent.

　　Entry is subject to availability of places.

　　Places are offered on the programme subject to satisfactory Garda Vetting clearance.
