Taught by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), a specialist research and teaching institute at the University of Tasmania, your education is at the cutting-edge of agriculture, informed by the latest world leading research and our strong connections with industry. The course offers two majors, Crop Science and Plant Health and Sustainable Agriculture. This major includes the study of chemistry, spatial sciences, ecology, microbiology, farm business economics, pasture science, soil science and the animal sciences.

  Crop Science and Plant Health - With a strong focus on crop production and protection, you?ll learn how to apply this knowledge to increase productivity and sustainability in diverse production settings. You?ll also study a broad range of topics including plant physiology, agronomy, horticultural science, entomology, plant pathology, chemistry, botany, microbiology and farm business economics. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tasmania (UTAS)

Admission to undergraduate courses at the University of Tasmania requires the completion of qualifications equivalent to the 12th year in Australia.

  International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - Overall score of 24

  GCE A Levels - Minimum score of 7 calculated using 2 or 3 H2 level subjects

  IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5)
