About the course

The Associate in Arts in American Sign Language degree (A.A in American Sign Language) provides students with the foundational knowledge in ASL to prepare them for transfer to four-year universities that offer a baccalaureate program.

　　Demonstrate competency in ASL expressive and receptive skills.

　　Demonstrate competency in visual gestural communication and finger-spelling.

　　Recognize what is required to support ASL as the visual language of the Deaf community.

　　Demonstrate a knowledge of the culture and cultural practices of the Deaf community.
