There are a number of diplomas and certificates available at the college, in subjects such as business, marketing and communication, leadership and management, hospitality management, and kitchen management.
Courses vary in length and are measured in terms - the shortest courses last 3 terms (between 31 and 39 weeks) while the longest last for 10 terms (130 weeks). Tuition fees are charged on a term basis at AUD 2,000 per term, except for the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Cert IV in kitchen management which has a fixed fee of AUD 20,800 as package fee.
International students are very welcome at SIBN College, with some courses designed as a gateway to a university degree for students applying from around the world. To apply, students will need to provide evidence of their high school education (or equivalent) and provide an IELTS score to prove they are capable of undertaking a class taught in English.

Course assessment is also carried out in a multitude of ways by college staff. These could include monitoring of performance in class, workshops and laboratories, projects, case studies, presentations, role plays, assignments, written tests and exams. Advance warning will be given of the time and form of assessments and students will receive the opportunity for a minimum of one reassessment in case of competencies not being demonstrated the first time.
Certificate courses in business teach students the skills required to fulfill varied roles in different industry sectors, as well as the know-how to apply a broad range of competencies using some judgment and theoretical knowledge. Additionally, some supervisory performance accountabilities are also taught, along with a broad knowledge base, to enable students to apply solutions to unpredictable problems and analyse information from multiple sources. Diploma courses tend to place more emphasis on management accountabilities and prepare students to take responsibility for others' work and be more of a leader.
Courses in marketing and communication provide the base for skills in leadership and strategy in the marketing and communications activities of a company. Students learn to analyse information and execute judgements using creative, technical and conceptual competencies, along with a broad knowledge of the marketing and communications field.
Students of management courses learn to initiate, plan and execute learning and development functions in the context of an organisational setting. They also learn to take full accountability for the output and work of other individuals. Management courses are relevant to future leaders and managers in organisations, where learning is utilised to enhance organisational capability.
Hospitality management courses, which include kitchen management and commercial cookery, combine key hospitality skills with vital elements of management in their course syllabus. Students of kitchen management and commercial cookery will be taught cookery skills and given a broad knowledge of food and menu preparation.
Students must meet the academic entry requirements and the minimum requirement in the IELTS. Students can use the college education equivalency document to assess if they meet entry requirements and if the requirements align with overseas qualifications. Students can include verified evidence of completing their education in an English-speaking country or completing a Certificate III or equivalent higher level qualification in Australia to gain an exemption from having to produce IELTS results.
