Sault College is a post-secondary educational institution which has been meeting the diverse needs of thousands of students every year since 1965. What's new

Covid-19 has had a profound and wide-ranging effect on the function of the global community, and in particular has resulted in a major challenge to the provision of quality post-secondary education. Sault College has been proactive in exploring new and innovative opportunities to offer its students fantastic value and consistency during these difficult times.

　　The college has a strong focus on the wellbeing and experiences of its students and, as a result, has established a number of new, bespoke support initiatives in collaboration with the college's Students' Union. These include the Student Relief fund, which provides additional assistance to those who are struggling to cover their living and learning costs due to exceptional circumstances. To date, this fund has issued hundreds of thousands of CAD in support of hundreds of students. In addition to this, the college oversaw the re-opening of the Student Food Bank to ensure that all students have the essential supplies needed to succeed in their studies.

　　Sault College regularly carries out a wide range of logistical, maintenance and administrative work to ensure that the campus is as safe as possible for all students, staff, and visitors. 　　The college organizes its courses to suit every lifestyle, financial or personal situation. There are multiple entry points throughout the academic year, giving flexibility to students plans for upcoming work and study. As a result, all students at Sault College are able to learn at their own pace, wherever they wish, through a range of distance, independent, and online learning programs. Students are also able to learn part-time allowing them to gain new knowledge or enhance existing skills while maintaining other commitments.

　　

Entry requirements

In order to apply for full-time or part-time study at Sault College and be successfully admitted, students will need to satisfy a number of entry criteria and provide relevant documentation to support their achievements and abilities.

　　Firstly, students will require the equivalent of a Secondary School Diploma as issued in Ontario, at the level of college preparation or higher. A number of programs at the college may require additional academic experience, and prospective students should familiarize themselves with the entry requirements before submitting their application. Students must also be a minimum of 18 years of age by the conclusion of their first semester of study at the college.

　　In order to undertake a post-diploma program at Sault College, applicants will need to demonstrate achievement of both a high school diploma and a college or university qualification.

　　For students who completed their education in a language other than English, their application must be accompanied by both the original certification documents and an official, notarized translation. If English isn't the first language of the applicant, evidence of English language competency must be provided within the application. There are many accepted assessment providers for this, and the minimum required scores can be found on the college website. The proficiency level will depend on the type of program being applied to.

Scholarships & funding

Sault College believes that access to education should be available to students from all walks of life, and economic backgrounds. The college understands the financial significance of studying away from home, and has established a program of Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards to support the ongoing success of its students. The program aims to provide high-achieving, determined or struggling students with a variety of financial assistance packages so that they can achieve their educational goals.

　　Students will be able to apply for a number of bursaries and scholarships during their time at college. Scholarships are typically awarded to students on the basis of past or potential academic achievement. In order to be eligible for many scholarships, applicants will need to sustain a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (accumulated). The college also offers a number of needs-based bursaries to students with difficult financial circumstances.

　　There are a number of awards which all students are automatically considered for on application. These are typically granted in the case of exceptional achievement or circumstance. All other awards require an application which must be submitted in accordance with each award's individual deadline, set out in the online Student Portal service. Some awards may require submission of additional documents. Applications are submitted online.
