The university has three campuses – the Mount Carmel and York Hill campuses based in Hamden, and the North Haven Campus situated just north of New Haven. There are 8 professional schools and one college that operate across these campuses, with a hugely diverse selection of undergraduate and graduate degrees available.
Quinnipiac is a prestigious university – of the almost 20,000 applicants for the Class of 2024, fewer than 2,000 students were enrolled between first-years and transfers. Despite the high competition, international students are not only welcomed but encouraged to apply, with 2.2 per cent of the student body coming from overseas.
The university offers exceptional teaching facilities across state-of-the-art labs and studios, and also invests heavily in other aspects of student life. Students can take up a new sport (and potentially represent the university's teams), enjoy comfortable and contemporary housing, and socialize with friends in various locations including over 30 dining venues.
Student support and safety are paramount to the university. As well as free counselling and medical services, the Learning Commons service helps students to achieve academic success through tailored support and peer mentoring. Students at Quinnipiac benefit from incredible facilities, expert tuition, as well as a modern and personal approach to academic support.
With an outstanding 97.4 per cent of graduates in employment or advanced education within 6 months of graduation, and over 96 per cent in employment 10 years after completing studies, students who choose Quinnipiac are setting themselves up for success both in the short- and long-term.
As such, there is always something exciting happening. One of the newest developments at the university is the recognition provided by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, granting a STARS Bronze rating to the university for its sustainability achievements. These include upgrades to the People's United Center – one of the university's athletics facilities which is now much more energy-efficient.
Individual schools and colleges often receive revamped or brand-new facilities too. In April 2022 the School of Communications opened a brand new, state-of-the-art open-air studio including advanced technology. These are just minor examples of the ongoing commitment the university has to providing the best equipment and learning spaces to its students, for now and for the future.
Students won't just learn in the classroom – there are plentiful opportunities to take an education in new directions with experiential learning, either through internships, studying abroad or by working alongside leading researchers and professionals at the university's centers and institutes.
The quality of the education offered has helped Quinnipiac to receive recognition on a national and global stage. It is regularly listed among the top colleges in the United States by organizations including the US News & World Report, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and The Princeton Review.
Alongside this, students can choose to submit coursework undertaken at a foreign university for academic credit, and can also submit any SAT or ACT exam scores if they wish to, although many programs at the university are considered ''test optional''.
As well as providing evidence of academic achievements, international students must ensure they submit their certification of finances to prove their ability to fund their course, and also share their evidence of completion of English proficiency tests, as all courses are taught in English.
Students can find full details of the admission requirements, including which English proficiency tests are accepted and minimum grades, at the university's website.
Undergraduate tuition fees for 2022-23 are USD 49,170 for first-year students, with additional charges for student fees and technology fees. Room and board is further USD 15,950 while there are also estimated costs for books, personal expenditure and transportation – in all, the estimated cost of attending is USD 70,540 for the year.
However, 93 per cent of students are eligible for financial aid to help reduce these costs, in the form of scholarships, grants and loans, and for the outstanding fees remaining students can arrange payment plans with the university. The average amount awarded to students for scholarships and grants is over USD 25,000.
The experience begins with housing for any students choosing to live on campus. The university offers excellent residential accommodation that is regularly upgraded and renovated ensuring it continues to provide the same high standards of living year-on-year.
Students also need a place to eat – and there are 31 unique food stations across the three campuses to ensure that all students are not only catered for but also have plenty of variety, no matter their dietary needs.
Each campus has its own recreational and fitness facilities that students are able to make use of, with fitness classes also available for students who wish to stay fit with the support of others. Students who wish to take their sporting talents to the next level can try out for the university's sports teams.
Among the varied and exceptional facilities specific to each course program, helping students to learn in environments that prepare them for the working world, students also have access to libraries that not only provide the resources needed, but also friendly expert librarians who can support any research queries.
