Students who complete their higher education diploma will enjoy guaranteed entry into the first of second year of an undergraduate programme. Students on a diploma course will study the same topics as first year undergraduate students, so can be assured that their education is equal to that of a bachelor's. Students will obtain a standalone higher education qualification at the end of their diploma programme.

UniSports, at the Mt Helen Campus, is the hub of recreational and health services for staff, students and the local community. The fully equipped gymnasium and eight lane indoor swimming pool are popular attractions amongst students. Special memberships are provided to students by UniSports and the Student Association. Additional facilities at UniSports include a multipurpose gym, rehabilitation centre, gymnastics hall, dance studio, tennis courts, squash courts and an oval and athletics track.
