About the course

Prepare for academic study at Anglia Ruskin University. Our Pre-Sessional English course lasts between five and 20 weeks. By the end of the course you should feel confident communicating in English and ready to start your degree course. Choose to study on campus or online.

　　Our online Pre-Sessional English programme is an intensive English language course that includes 30 hours of study every week. We focus on English language skills, with classes on grammar and vocabulary, fluency, and pronunciation.

　　We also look at academic study skills, and you'll benefit from classes on presentation skills, reading and listening, writing and exam preparation. There is a range of communicative seminars, workshops and lectures.

　　Our teaching methods are very interactive and will help to build your confidence in communicating in English. You?ll attend one-to-one tutorials to discuss your progress and work on your speaking and listening skills with our expert tutors, and we can offer additional support if required.

　　Independent study is an important part of any degree course, so you'll have time to focus on developing this skill. Each week you will have 15 hours of lessons with a tutor, working in groups, as well as 15 hours of study that you must complete in your own time, using our world class Virtual Learning Environment.
