About the course
Develop an advanced understanding of the complexity of recreation, parks and tourism, and expand your potential to contribute to recreation development and planning. Lincoln University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Parks, Recreation and Tourism develops your understanding of the parks, recreation and tourism sectors at an advanced level. This includes cultivating your knowledge of the behaviour of tourists and people engaging in recreation, and the strategies and methodologies of tourism and recreation service providers. You’ll also grow an in-depth awareness of how political systems, policy bodies, local or global economic and environmental factors can influence long term planning and business decisions in these sectors. When you graduate, you’ll be able to apply your understanding of the complexities and nuances of the recreation and tourism industries to planning and development tasks over a range of different levels. How to apply
Entry requirements for Lincoln University
Lincoln offers a number of postgraduate certificates and diplomas to extend your studies in your chosen discipline. To apply to study for a postgraduate certificate or diploma, you must have a relevant degree with at least a B- average in the 300 level courses and final year (full-time equivalent).
In the original language. If this is not English, then an official translation should be provided.
Academic transcripts (results or mark sheets) for all tertiary education qualifications, either completed or partially completed. The transcript must include the courses taken and the marks or grades achieved. The grading scale used must also be provided.
Confirmation of any completed qualifications, if applicable. This can be either:
- an award certificate,
- a statement on the transcript, or
- a letter from the awarding institution.
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that your level of English meets the English language requirements for admission to Lincoln.
IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no individual component less than 6.0, TOEFL iBT^ - Overall score of 80 (with at least 21 in Writing and 18 in Speaking)
