About the course

The MSc in Health Economics and Econometrics is ideal for new graduates hoping to pursue a career in health economics or for those currently working in the health care sector who wish to develop skills in this area.

　　Health care systems are being challenged to meet unlimited patient/population needs with constrained and limited resources and health economics data plays an important role in evidence-based decision making. This programme provides an in-depth understanding of health economics and advanced econometric techniques and their application in addressing economics and policy issues.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Birmingham

The normal entrance requirement for our Masters programmes is a good Honours degree (upper second-class or above) in Economics or a ly related subject, or an equivalent professional qualification and professional experience.

　　Appropriate career experience may also be taken into account. It is hard to give general rules on these matters, since each case is considered on individual merit. However, the factors which tend to count in your favour are suitable health services managerial experience, favourable reports from academic referees, or proven ability in research or publication. You should give as much evidence as possible of your capabilities in these areas.

　　IELTS - 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band.

　　TOEFL iBT - 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
