About the course

A 15 credit Post-Baccalaureate Certificate option in Community Leadership requires successful completion of four courses. The certificate is intended for students who want to gain a baseline understanding of community leadership. Students may apply certificate course credits to the Masters of Professional Studies in Community Leadership program. The Community Leadership program includes core courses that provide a broad understanding of the leadership, ethical and quantitative skills needed to excel as a community leader. Upon completing the core, students can take courses in the critical topics of policy, race/gender/class, non-profits, urban studies, and social entrepreneurship. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Maryland

A bachelor?s degree

　　Applicants should have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

　　Applicants should have at least two years work experience

　　GRE scores are not required for admission

　　Completed application including residency form (Residency form determines in-state tuition eligibility)

　　Statement outlining the student?s goals and expectations in the program. This also is an opportunity for applicants to further explain their background and qualifications for the program and provide any additional information about themselves or their career experience that they feel will benefit the evaluation of their application.

　　Official transcript(s) from each college & university attended.

　　An English proficiency test is required for most international students. The Graduate School has a minimum TOEFL score of 80, but certain academic programs may require a higher score. MyBest scores and single date test scores for the TOEFL are both acceptable.
