About the course
Biomedical Science at Ulster University has an outstanding record of success in research, Research within this research group involves research laboratories covering a wide spectrum of interests that include: fundamental science such as understanding of structure-function basis of novel therapeutic receptors in gene regulatory regions, the development of 2D and 3D cell systems to investigate cellular processes, applications such as the development of sensors, therapeutics, imaging and targeted delivery systems for anticancer, antimicrobial activity, or bone fracture repair, and current use such as informing the prescription of therapeutics. The work is supported by local access to NMR spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry, fluorescence imaging, single molecule imaging microscopies such as TEM and AFM, cell & tissue culture, animal facilities, chemical synthesis labs, and pharmaceutical formulation facilities among others. Entry requirements for Ulster University
Applicants should hold, or expect to obtain, a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed area of study.Applicants deemed by Senate to hold an equivalent qualification will also be considered.
A completed application must be completed in full, including:
all information on existing qualifications and transcripts
funding details or requirements
evidence of English language proficiency
names and addresses of referees
For funded scholarship opportunities, the advertisements for each project will include any shortlisting criteria.
A research proposal may be required as part of the application process and this will be noted in the shortlisting criteria for funded projects. Self-funded applications must be accompanied by a proposal.
