About the course

Motive Power Technician (Diesel) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program that includes paid co-op work experience. Students will gain knowledge on internal combustion compression ignition engines, power trains and related modern heavy-duty systems. Graduates will feel confident entering the workplace after applying their skills through their co-op experiences. Dynamic and specialized technicians are always in-demand and Fanshawe’s Motive Power Technician (diesel) program will give you the necessary knowledge and the opportunity to apply your new skills through co-op work experiences.

　　Through the diesel mechanic courses, you will learn about internal combustion compression ignition engines, power trains, and modern heavy-duty systems. Students will also be able to communicate effectively, diagnose and solve problems logically and undertake responsible work tasks with minimum supervision.
