How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Birmingham

The normal entrance requirement for our Masters programmes is a good Honours degree (upper second-class or above) in Economics or a ly related subject, or an equivalent professional qualification and professional experience.

　　Appropriate career experience may also be taken into account. It is hard to give general rules on these matters, since each case is considered on individual merit. However, the factors which tend to count in your favour are suitable health services managerial experience, favourable reports from academic referees, or proven ability in research or publication. You should give as much evidence as possible of your capabilities in these areas.

　　English to IELTS 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in each component) , TOEFL - 95 overall with no less than 22 in any band

　　University of Birmingham graduates do not need to provide transcripts or copies of degree certificates, however we advise applicants who graduated prior to 2000 to provide copies of their qualifications as they may take longer to verify. Personal statement, approximately 5000 characters, explaining why you are interested in studying on your chosen programme. This can be uploaded to the personal statement section in PDF or Microsoft Word format. Alternatively, you can type this within the application portal. On your application, you will be asked to supply contact details of two academic referees (or one academic reference if applicable to the course/programme appled for). Employment references may be acceptable for certain courses which require them.
