This degree focuses on the key areas of a building surveyor's work: building performance, regulatory compliance, specification, supervision and management of construction works, and building pathology. These areas encompass a range of activities, including surveys, inspections, evaluations, and the maintenance and remediation of defects.
Throughout the course, you’ll get a strong understanding of the process of procurement, contract, and project management of building works, with an emphasis on both new-build and the extension and refurbishment of existing buildings.
In addition, you’ll develop an applied understanding of building technology, building regulations, sustainability, digital technologies, conversion, adaptation and care of buildings, and heritage and conservation. Professionals and graduates wishing to pursue a career in the property and construction industry, on route to Chartered status. It's suitable for those who don't necessarily have a background in property or construction, acting as a fast-track conversion for those with an unrelated undergraduate degree (or professional qualification) to obtain an accredited route into the industry.
