About the course
The department has an international reputation for music research in history, theory, anthropology/ethnography, composition, and creative practice. We are particularly strong in Western music from the twelfth century to the present day, jazz, opera, film music, performance studies, and the music of the Middle East, South and South East Asia, Latin America, and West Africa. How to apply
Entry requirements for King's College London
A Bachelor's degree with 1st class or 2:1 honours (or overseas equivalent). A Master’s degree in Music or a related discipline is also normally required, but particularly strong candidates who do not hold a Master’s degree may be considered. Equivalent qualifications or experience may be considered in exceptional cases. IELTS (Academic) - 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in reading & writing and 6.0 in listening & speaking. TOEFL iBT - 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in writing, 23 in reading and 20 in each of the other skills. TOEFL pBT - 160.
