About the course

To nurture middle school and high school students? knowledge and appreciation of the natural sciences, a teacher needs more than a foundation in chemistry. This program develops teacher candidates? knowledge and understanding of adolescent learning and development, educational theory, and best practices in science education.

  In the fall and spring semesters of the first year, students are in classrooms for three full days per week: observation for three weeks, then student teaching, in the same classroom, for ten weeks.

  In the fall and spring semesters of the second year, students are in classrooms for five full days per week: observation for two weeks, then student teaching, in the same classroom, for twelve weeks. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

How to apply

Entry requirements for Fordham University

Applicants to the program must have a degree in chemistry or a related field with a minimum of 30 credits in chemistry coursework. Applicants must have taken courses in the following areas: principles of chemistry, including concepts in inorganic, organic, analytical, physical, and biochemistry.

  IELTS: 7 for General Test Score, No subtest can be lower than 6.

  TOEFL: 577 for paper test, 90 for Internet-based (IBT) test.
