About the course

This program prepares students for employment as professional statisticians. It is not designed to be preparation for the Ph.D. degree program, though students completing the program with outstanding records are encouraged to consider the Ph.D. degree. The applied statistics masters program is also a suitable masters for doctoral candidates in other fields.

  At least 33 credit hours are required for the MS in Applied Statistics. In general, all credit hours must be listed as STAT courses. (Jointly listed courses must be taken under the STAT designation.)

  The plan of study should emphasize methodological and computational courses rather than advanced probability or advanced mathematical statistics courses which are more appropriate for the MS in Mathematical Statistics. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

Entry requirements for Purdue University - West Lafayette

Applicants are ordinarily expected to hold a bachelor?s degree from a college or university of recognized standing prior to registration, and should have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or higher.
