About the course

The Plant and Environmental Sciences (PES) Department offers two advanced degree programs: The Plant & Environmental Sciences Graduate program, and the Entomology Graduate program. Both graduate programs offer a Master of Science degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree. The Plant and Environmental Sciences (PES) Graduate Program offers areas of study that lead to two graduate degrees: The Master of Science degree (M.S.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Areas of specialization within PES include Agronomy, Crop Improvement, Crop Physiology, Horticulture, Integrated Pest Management, Microbial Ecology, Plant Breeding, Plant Nutrient Management, Plant Physiology, Soil Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Turfgrass Science, and Weed Science. Students with Baccalaureate degrees in Agronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Horticulture, Physics, Plant Sciences, Soil Sciences, or other related disciplines are welcome to pursue their graduate studies in PES at Clemson.   A satisfactory score (80 or higher) is required of international students whose native language is not English. Clemson’s institution code is 5111. TOEFL scores are valid for two years.

  Can be taken in lieu of TOEFL. A satisfactory score (6.5 or higher) is required of international students whose native language is not English. IELTS scores are valid for two years.
