About the course

Graduate programs leading to the MS and PhD are available with majors in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering, and engineering science. A dual MS-MBA program is available with a major in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or biomedical engineering.Within the engineering science concentrations, interdisciplinary programs are arranged to meet individual needs or interests. The flexibility and interdisciplinary aspect of the program concentrations are intended to be of particular interest to prospective students currently employed in research, development, or design activities and whose interests in continuing education (either full-time or part-time) lie at one of the interfaces between science and engineering or can best be met by interdisciplinary study in engineering. The program’s course offerings and research activities are also intended to meet the needs of students who seek preparation for employment in engineering areas requiring specialization in mechanics or in related interdisciplinary studies such as bio-mechanics. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tennessee

Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting agency, recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEEA). A non-U.S. degree must be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from the United States and must be granted by a recognized or accredited foreign institution. Applicants with non-U.S. degrees must have earned a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or other equivalent to a ‘B’ average. A total score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), Paper-based test – 550, a 6.5 overall band score on the IELTS.
