About the course

Today’s world is becoming increasingly interconnected. The ability to interpret and analyze global trends and concepts, as well as understand other cultures, is of greater importance now than ever before. Troy University’s Master of Science in International Relations (MSIR) program prepares students to be successful and competitive on this global stage.

  One of the largest international relations graduate studies program in the United States, TROY’s MSIR program offers students of diverse backgrounds and undergraduate pedigrees the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of international political and economic trends and activities that help to shape and define the world in which we live and work.

  TROY’s MSIR program is a 12-course, 36-credit-hour program that will expose students to a diverse curriculum covering history, regional studies comparative government, foreign policy studies, political economy, geography, conflict management, national security, international organization and law, intercultural relations and developing states. Students will gain a wide-ranging appreciation for the political, historical, cultural, economic and geographical factors that affect international relations and will emerge from the program with the analytical and theoretical skills necessary for understanding and evaluating the impact of global and national issues on world events. Entry requirements for Troy University

Hold a master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited or equivalent foreign university. No test score or letter of recommendation is required for those who hold a master?s or higher degree from an accredited university for any master?s level program. All official transcripts must be provided. or Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited or equivalent foreign university with a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours. or Hold a baccalaureate degree from an unaccredited or otherwise accredited college or university with a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours.

  TOEFL): 193 (computer-based test), 70 (Internet-based test), or 523 (paper test). IELTS): score of 6.0.
