About the course
Information Systems offers a strong, practical focus in designing, developing and evaluating databases and management information systems to support business and managerial operations in publishing, media and communication environments. Information Systems professionals serve as the critical link between technology and business. As an Information Systems professional, you will work on collaborative teams to design, analyze, implement, deploy and evaluate the computing systems that drive modern enterprise. You will take data and transform it into organizational knowledge, enabling people to access the information to predict the future and make informed decisions that propel business. The Department of Informatics consists of two divisions: Information Systems and Information Technology. All Informatics degree programs are STEM degrees (STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
The Division of Information Systems (IS) demonstrates a long history of integrating innovation, research and education at the intersection of people, information and computing technology. Our state-of-the-art curriculum, with a hands-on focus in web, social media, data science, business applications, and user experience, provides students with solid career knowledge, design and implementation skills, and leadership preparation. Entry requirements for New Jersey Institute of Technology
To be considered for a master's program at NJIT, you must have completed a four-year accredited Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, and demonstrate strong academic achievement in an appropriate discipline. If your most recent degree was earned at a school outside the United States, you must submit GRE scores as part of your application for admission. Additionally, the following graduate programs require the GRE for all applicants: applied physics, architecture, biology, infrastructure planning, materials science. All full-time applicants pursuing a degree in Newark College of Engineering also require a GRE.
One letter of recommendation.
The GMAT or GRE is required for all applicants to graduate programs within the Martin Tuchman School of Management.
The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper-based TOEFL exam. A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam.
