About the course
The Department of Applied Human Sciences offers a Master of Science degree in Family Studies and Human Services with a specialization in youth development. The collaborative, multi-institutional master?s degree program in Youth Development draws on the expertise of graduate faculty and graduate courses from seven land-grant universities. Faculty at these institutions share knowledge and expertise in youth development, delivering most instruction over the internet. All institutions are members of the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance and have a history of success in distance education. The department offers graduate work toward M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in a broad range of the human sciences and human services. The M.S. degree in human development and family science includes specializations in prevention science, couple and family therapy, early childhood education, family and community services, and life span human development. The department offers the following specializations leading to the Ph.D. degree in health and human sciences: prevention science in HDFS, couple and family therapy, and life span human development. How to apply
Entry requirements for Kansas State University
A bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a regional or national institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Undergraduate preparation in the proposed major field equivalent to that acquired by a graduate of Kansas State University, or evidence of an appropriate background for undertaking an advanced degree program, and
Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale or GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of coursework. This GPA is based only on courses graded on a multi-level scale, usually A, B, C, D, F.
TOEFL Score: A TOEFL of at least 600 (paper test), 250 (computer-based test), or 100 (internet-based test) is required
