About the course

The Master of Science in Environmental Studies offers interdisciplinary breadth to students in preparation for careers as environmental professionals. Students have access to faculty expertise in the natural sciences, engineering, social and behavioral sciences, business and economics, the arts and humanities. The Master of Science in Environmental Studies degree is designed to prepare students to enter or advance in careers in the environmental field. The program provides students with a plan of study that integrates knowledge and approaches to complex problems from various fields in the sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities to meet the students? individual career goals. This highly individualized and transdisciplinary approach provides a distinctive learning experience for Environmental Studies students. Upon completion of the program, students should be able to: analyze environmental issues through social, economic and ecological lenses, apply quantitative and qualitative methods as appropriate to environmental research, and utilize information resources and technology to organize and evaluate environmental research. Entry requirements for California State University - Fullerton

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Good standing at the last attended college A minimum grade-point average of 3.0 in the last 60 units of attempted coursework Two (2) letters of recommendation For the Environment and Society track: Completion of one (1) course in ecology AND one (1) course in quantitative methods. For the Environmental Sciences and Techinology Track: Completion of nine (9) upper division units in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics. The GRE is not required. For International students, a minimum score of 550 (TOEFL, paper-based), 80 iBT, or 6.5 (IELTS) is required.
